It was mid-June when I received news related to my dad’s health that took me by surprise. You see, my dad is pretty healthy and the active type– always doing things to keep himself occupied. My dad told me that he was experiencing a lot of pain.
But there was one small problem… He was in Mexico and waiting on his passport renewal to get approved (COVID-19 delayed the process).
Well, that same week, the passport miraculously arrived in the mail (before the anticipated date).
When we finally made it to Mexico, I enthusiastically knocked on the door, and there I saw just how much my dad struggled to get to the door.
I determined to return to Chicago the very next day, but God had other plans.
The following day was Father’s Day, and just before the night ended, we had some family come over that recommended a spine clinic in Guadalajara, Mexico.
What was supposed to be a “short trip” turned into an unexpected vacation that would teach me about spine health and prevention.
I remember my dad walking into the clinic with extreme pain due to three herniated discs compressing his spine’s nerves.
After three weeks we noticed improvements so we decided to return.
Once in Chicago, I took him for further evaluation and more physical therapy. I learned so much regarding the importance of protecting your spine that I felt the need to pass it along in this quick video.
I share the importance of protecting your spine with 3 proven tips (from a Physical Therapy Specialist) and back pain recommendations.
It amazes me how complex our body is and how incredibly capable of healing itself with proper care. God gives us doctors, medicine, holistic and rehabilitative ways to treat our ailments.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 15:7
I thought this verse was fitting because we all have needs, and I want you to know that you can ask anything in prayer.
