Valentines Day is just around the corner; stores are filled with heart-shaped chocolates, red roses, and stuffed bears. I get that it’s the day we get to celebrate romantic love and friendship. But what if you don’t have a partner to share it with? Maybe you’re a single mom? This day can stir up some mixed emotions, or perhaps not.
Whether we want to admit it or not, deep down, we all have a fundamental longing for the warmth of affection and the security of knowing that we are the center of someone else’s universe.
At one point in my life, I was that single mother affected by divorce who longed for a valentine’s card with sweet words from someone special.
As I reflect on those days, I feel compelled to be that person who encourages you today!
Single Mom, those tears that trickle down your cheeks when nobody is watching, and the days you feel like giving up, but you keep going for the wellbeing of your precious children, all those moments are seen.
You are strong and worthy of admiration.
This Valentine’s Day, keep your hands open. Release and Receive. Your worth is so much greater than being someone else’s Valentine.
Always remember the God of the Universe watches over you. He offers his mercy each morning, just enough, so you can get through each day. Never for a second think you are alone because he walks beside you.
You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love. My life was preserved by your care.
Job 10:12
God’s gift to you–this Valentine’s Day and EVERY day–is his redeeming love, which is infinitely more valuable than any bouquet, chocolate, or jewelry.
